Brief Introduction of Geocell Confinement System
Geocell is a kind of high strength HDPE polymer, which is welded by high strength welding material and 14 welding points. It is a kind of geo environmental protection composite material with flexible characteristics. It is mainly used to reinforce the soft foundation of the highway and to ensure the stability of the slope.

The geocell is made of a number of polyethylene plates welded together. The sheet thickness is 0.8-1.5mm, the service life is 70-100 years, and the construction environment is 70 ℃ to - 40 ℃.

Geocell Confinement System construction method
1, Preparation before setting geocell:
1>. According to the requirements of construction specifications, the subgrade shall be leveled and rolled to the required compactness.
2>. Bamboo and wooden wedges (Φ 3-5cm, length 30cm) are manufactured.
2, Layout and hanging net
Layout of soft foundation and dam type Subgrade
A. stretch the cell so that the cell is in tension and no relaxation is allowed.
B. at the beginning of laying the geocell, the prepared bamboo and wood wedges are driven into the subgrade with a hammer according to the riveting distance (400 mm and 500 mm) of the geocell (generally, there are 10 pieces for each piece at the starting point), and the exposed part of the bamboo and wood wedge shall not be higher than the height of the cell.
C. hang the geocell on the bamboo and wooden wedge according to the grid.
D. the width of geocell shall be laid according to the design requirements.
E connection between geocells: before the geocells are tensioned, connect the geocells with cell connectors.
F. the connected geocell shall be uniformly tensioned to the specified size, and fixed with bamboo, wood wedge or manual to prepare filling.

Application of Geocell Confinement System:
Geocell has the functions of filtration, drainage, isolation, reinforcement, seepage prevention and protection. In recent years, the reinforcement function has been applied more and more, and its application field has gradually expanded.
